We’re so excited to reveal Monica Drake’s book cover today. It’s another beauty by our designer Bryan Coffelt and features a photo of a young Monica leading her brother to certain doom adventure!
I’ve known Monica since the 90s, from her days as Books Editor for The Portland Mercury to acclaimed novelist and leading figure at the PNCA BFA program. Throughout that time, I’ve always been particularly blown away by her short stories. I’ve taken every chance I get to publish her gems, including the anthologies I edited, The Insomniac Reader, Portland Noir, and an issue of Spork Magazine. I’ve been yearning for a book of her short stories for years now, so I’m especially excited to be the one publishing it. Pre-order it here and we should have copies out in the mail in late February.
