We’re really excited to launch our new-look website, something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time.
And it’s just in time for the new release in our Scout Book series, Soft Split by Szilvia Molnar. Oh, man. Do I love this book. I like to say it’s like a return to the weird for Future Tense. I mean, Witchita Stories is pretty weird too and so were all three of last year’s Scout Books, but Soft Split is just crazy stuff. So funny, so dreamy, so perverse. Szilvia’s our new hero.
Plus, we love working with Scout Books. We’ve known these folks ever since way back when they used to do Eye-Rhyme Magazine (blast from the past!).
Oh—speaking of Witchita Stories, Troy James Weaver’s book of evocative midwestern youth stories is still going strong. Nice reviews have appeared and Troy had this great essay recently on The Lit Hub. Troy will be reading in Austin, Texas on October 8th at Malvern Books.
And make sure to check out our ongoing eBook series, Instant Future (it’s so special it has its own website). Our newest release is Elissa Washuta’s Starvation Mode and it’s worthy of a party and some high praise. Series editor Matthew Simmons has more goodness coming your way in that series later this year.
Our next paperback release should be out around the end of the year. It’s going to be a full-length collection of stories by one of my all-time favorite Portland writers, Monica Drake. Watch out for The Folly of Loving Life.
Thanks for stopping by our site and for helping us spread the word about our books. Remember to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and for gosh sake, never leave home without a book!
heart,
Kevin
